Easter Celebrations To Commemorating The Resurrection of Jesus

The Significance of Easter

Easter, also called Pascha (Greek, Latin) or Resurrection Sunday, is a festival and holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day after his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD (Wikipedia).

According to the Bible in the "New Testament", the foundation of Christian faith starts to light with the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and on this very day Easter is celebrated. Resurrection is proof of the belief that Jesus is the Son of God. During the Last Supper (the final meal that, in the Gospel accounts, Jesus shared with his Apostles in Jerusalem before his crucifixion), he prepared himself for his death and declared the same to his disciples.

Jesus Christ held a glass of wine and identified the wine as his blood and the glass as his body which were soon to be sacrificed. This meal is termed as the Passover meal and the resurrection that followed his crucifixion which symbolized the Easter Season.
