Beyonce says the album features many artists from Africa because she wants it to be about authentic music from the continent. "I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa and not just use some of the sound or my own interpretation of it," that which she said in an interview. And the album is unmistakably a Beyoncé hangout. The star appears on all but four of the songs, and her lyrical preoccupations motherhood and empowering female, the general awesomeness of Beyoncé get more prominence than The Lion King itself. Songs directly inspired by the film include the light-footed Find Your Way Back, in which Mufasa passes on fatherly advice to a young Simba; and Otherside, a quietly-turbulent ballad about the King's death, which features a shot callback to Beyonce's megahit Halo.
